Native Company is a startup that aims to bring authentic and unique food products from small-scale businesses across South India to a wider audience.
Project Brief
To develop a branding and packaging design that reflects the company’s mission of celebrating regional food and promotes its values of authenticity, quality, and uniqueness.
Mood Board
At the start of this project, I began by having a conversation with the client to gain a better understanding of their desired design style. They expressed an interest in incorporating floral wedding logos, hand-painted floral illustrations, pastel colors, ethnic patterns, and heliconia flowers into the branding. To further explore these ideas and get a deeper understanding of the visual direction, I decided to create a moodboard.
By curating a collection of images that reflected the desired style and aesthetic, I was able to establish a visual foundation for the project and ensure that all design decisions would align with the established vision.
Logo Design
The primary objective for the logo design was to reflect the company's values of offering organically sourced products, while also conveying a sense of quality, authenticity, and sustainability. Based on the inspiration and visual direction established through the moodboard, I began to explore different design options and experiment with different floral patterns.
Through a process of iteration and refinement, the final logo design emerged, translating the visual direction of the moodboard into a tangible and memorable brand identity that accurately reflects the client's values and vision.
Illustrations
A repository of organic patterns and illustrations was created, with the intention of establishing a consistent and recognizable visual language for the brand. By using a variety of different organic patterns, such as florals and leaves, as well as illustrations of natural elements, the labels reflect the brand's commitment to offering organically sourced products.
